Somatic Bodywork is a gateway to transformation.
Transformation happens through inquiry, delving, awareness, opening and then shaping the new self.
Much coaching can be done in conversation and in practices that are given to the client to work on
in-between meeting times. Thus, this work can be done quite well over the phone or Skype. However,
hands-on somatic bodywork, when coupled with directed conversation, is catalytic. It helps you
connect to your feeling and sensing self and to speak from that self.
Through somatic bodywork,
the body's long-held armoring can be released so that energy can move more freely, and emotions
can be more openly expressed. Somatic bodywork differs from massage in that you are an active
participant. The work is done on a massage table, with clothes on. Strozzi somatics bodywork
derives from many different modalities, including Feldenkrais, Somatic Polarity and Reichian theory
relating to armoring bands, and encompasses energy awareness, breath work, touch and conversation.
There's nothing to get rid of, only more to embrace in this work. In the accepting and embracing,
we make room for what's underneath the surface, what's "more", to emerge. The "more" is often more
depth, daring and aliveness.
